Posted - 07/31/2009 : 5:13:58 PM What are the rules to getting licensed in Top Eliminator? Can I license at another event or does it have to be an NSDA event? Just wanting to know so I can make a deadline for my car to get finished.
Thanks, Kenny

Posted - 08/06/2009 : 4:45:22 PM Bottom line thier is NO MONEY IN SAND RACING !!!!!! NSDA are not getting rich off these races I am sure of that , From what I here they actually lose money every race . They do a great job at giving us a facility to run our cars. The alternative is we have a whole lot money that sits in our garages that isnt worth anything ! Sand Racing doesnt have a fan base, until you can get spectators to come watch us it will always be a losing battle . We do this because we love it and thats the best reason to go racing !

No not at all I have just seen many organizations come and go and they all do the same thing try and make it like NHRA I agree with you about the money but I do think that some rules are good.

Well " MY BROTHER FROM ANOTHER MOTHER " I did not know I was playing "THE ANYTHING FOR SAFTEY TRUMP CARD" Just my .000000002 cents and I think it is a good idea to make everyone get a LICENSE for all classes... Not saying people cant race but there is just to many things that can go wrong look I drove the same car for 3 years and ran the do-do out of it and I still smashed it do-do happens do-do some people are not allowed to drive a car on the street yet and will still let them race go figure you know me lets race I don’t care where, or against who, or with what group as long as I can pay my way in I will be there....So if anyone needs some Trophies let me know the new car is starting to be a boat... hahaha
Lets just go racing..........
Again just my .000000000000000002 cents.......

Have a form that is downloaded from your website with all the requirments of licensing and have a place for 3 current licensed drivers in that class that are there witnessing it to sign off on the license. We are the ones in the lane next to them so I dont believe that anyone is going to sign off unless they fell they can saftly run next to them. In my opinion I think that tracks like Primm and Avenal are hard enough to control a car in the shutdown for a experinced driver and are no place for someone that has not driven before. We need all the racers we can get at each and every event so why not make it easier for people to show up and race safely.
Nick
Ok this is where everything all ways takes a S**T....Every time someone starts a new organization for sand racing the members all ways want to be like someone else....So here is the app. to get your LICENSE to drive FUEL in NHRA....
and if you read it all you will see " Drivers who have not competed (or have let their NHRA license expire) for a period of two (2) years will have to meet all NEW DRIVER REQUIREMENTS. For TF and FC who have not competed for two years, license will become inactive, three (3) test runs will be required to re-activate; see runs 4, 5 and 6. Test runs must be completed at an NHRA Member Track. "
If I read this right the track must be a NHRA Member Track....Not Jimbob's field while drinking a beer....
Hell guys I do not run your classes but it does not matter we all have the same goal....RACE ARE CARS IN THE SAND AND LIVE TO DRINK BEER AFTER.... Everyone talks the good talk and cries that we can never race or not race enough so you think we as racers would do what ever we can, want, and should do just to go race. let me think I want to run my car but I have to make 3 passes or I can't race with the NSDA so hello make the passes and run your car....I think some people just want to find a reason why they will not come and race with us...If you realy want to run your car I think you do what ever you have to.....
I am not trying to piss anyone off but this is starting to turn into high school bull S**T...

Posted - 08/05/2009 : 9:38:50 PM Rod, PRO and the NHRA is a great example of what we need here. I have commented before, we need a competition committee not what we currently have. I would agree this entire discussion has nothing to do with safety, but control the NSDA is not willing to give up!
Personally, a hand tied to the roll cage race would be an interesting side show. How about a backwards race? Hell I will put up the first $100.00 to see a backwards, hand tied to the roll cage race, any body else want join in? I have been a promoter and you're right, it is a thankless job. Like many other people I have complimented the NSDA when necessary.
Swag, 22 T/F cars on your list, there will be less than a handful in Avenal. I will be curious to see how many cars in the other classes show up. Could you imagine if half of each list showed at a single race. What a show that would be!
These forums could be a valuable tool for the NSDA/NSRA to use for the next big step! As long as opinions still matter, we will be watching and commenting as usual.

HECK ROD I WAS SURE YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT MY LAST PASS AT PRIMM. I HIT A ROCK ON THAT PASS AND IT KNOCKED THE WHEEL OUT OF MY LEFT HAND. SO THAT HAND WAS UP IN THE AIR AS I TRYED TO REGRASP THE WHEEL. AT THE RODEO THEY CALL IT WHIPPING AND SPURRING.
ROD, WHATS THE STORY BEHIND SOUTH POINT CASINO? WOULD THEY BE INTERESTED IN HAVING SAND DRAGS???

Posted - 08/05/2009 : 1:49:26 PM Safety is important and so are rules. NHRA has PRO and the debate NHRA rules all the time. NHRA dose not take it personal and I am sure NSDA dose not either. I am not debating this policy to bash or put down NSDA or any promoter in any fashon. I dont want there job and want nothing to do with being a race promoter. I just want to race. I dont have to license but would be happy to make passes with one had tied to the top roll bar if that is what it took to be allowed to race. However I cant see how this rule makes anything safer, except I guess with less cars at the event there would be less chance of an accident. Less cars, less spectators, less interest by casino's,less money, and on and on.
