Posted - 10/25/2006 : 2:39:04 PM We are looking into the idea of having a race on friday for those who are wanting more racing action for the weekend. Here is the format. $100 entry fee, 3.20 - 5.50 e.t range, pro tree. $600 to the winner, $300 to the runner-up and $150 to the semi finalists. We would take a 24 car maximum field. Let us know if that is something you would be intrested in doing. We would need to get 24 cars to make this happen.

Posted - 11/16/2006 : 07:27:45 AM MIKE I THINK THAT MAYBE A LOWER COST PRO CLASS IS NEEDED. I WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT RUN ON SAT. IT MAY TAKE A FEW FROM SPORT, BUT IT COULD WORK. THIS ALSO WOULD GIVE A RACER ONE MORE CLASS TO RUN FOR THE MONEY. YES NSDA HAS MADE A LOT OF RACERS HAPPY. THE RACERS IN SPORT THAT ARE THINKING ABOUT GOING TO A PRO CLASS, MAY STEP UP IF THE COST WAS LOWER. MY 2 CENTS SWAG
PS : PEEWEE YOUR SO LUCKY TO HAVE SUCH A GREAT SPONSOR!! |

Posted - 11/16/2006 : 07:07:47 AM i guess it's just me & 2 other guys. so let's do it YOUR way and stop screwing around- $1000 per car in the gambler, winner take all. that should be $140,000 for 1st. should we do a poll? or maybe $5000 would be more appropriate? $700,000 for 1st sounds great 'eh? |

Posted - 11/15/2006 : 5:50:43 PM again i am not referring to nsda only.if you look as far as bikes go there prices are inline with everybody elses that we race with.i have no idea about the cars. i think the idea of this thread is to make sure we keep the racing affordable enough to bring new people in. when we started racing 3 years ago we were running a stock banshee and paid $100 to race 2 classes. now it is roughly $150 or more depending on which association you race with.it is hard to get somebody with a stock bike to spend that kind of money.
i will say again THIS IS NOT A CRITICISM OF NSDA it is only a topic of discussion on their forum. |

Posted - 11/15/2006 : 4:05:19 PM Thats whats nice about the Sand-drags, You have some promoters who prefer to let you run all You want for a small fee, Then You have other promoters who charge a larger fee and pay more back, There are lots of different venues, I just dont believe because 1 promoters venue, dosen't fit your style that you think they should change it. Just my Opinion, I look at it from a promoters stand point: 140 racers happy with the Program, 2 or 3 not, what are You supposed to do?
They say You just cant guarentee the prize money in the Sand HMMM... "YOU JUST CAN'T" |

i agree with you completely about the cost. we race quads and trying desperately to increase the quad count but all we here is "why would i go pay $135 to go race once every hour or so when i can go race at the riverbottom or at the flats at the dunes for free and run as much as i want". most everybody that has raced at the track gets it but how do you convince the ones that have never tried to come out?
this is not intended for the nsda only it is a problem in all sand drag organizations. |

Posted - 11/15/2006 : 09:12:47 AM We do try to listen to everyone on here, its part of the reason we started this forum. We continually ask for racers input on things and make the necessary changes where we can. Even though we may not respond to every post on here (unless its a direct question), We do read everything on the forums and take it into consideration. Thanks to everyone for their input and support!! It is very much appreciated!

Posted - 11/15/2006 : 07:58:43 AM MIKE DONT GIVE UP, NSDA IS NEW . I HAVE HURD OF A FEW CARS BEING BUILT THAT WOULD RUN IN A PRO 4 CLASS. ALSO I CAN SEE THAT A LOWER COST PRO CLASS MAY BE NEEDED. I ALWAYS HAD ALOT OF FUN WHEN I WAS RACING IN PRO 4/5 WITH THE OLD TRUCK. NSDA WILL NEED TO SEE THAT THEY CAN GET THE CAR COUNT TO RUN A PRO4 CLASS. YOU MY WANT TO TALK TO THEM ABOUT A PRO CLASS ON SAT.(LOWER COST? OR WHATEVER) YOU DO KNOW THAT THEY LISTEN TO YOU. KEEP ON RACING MIKE SWAG
PS JUST LOOK AT THE T&A TEAM, THEY HAVE BEEN WORKING VERY HARD AND ALMOST GOT THE TE CAR DOWN TO A PRO 4 TIME. |

Posted - 11/14/2006 : 4:10:32 PM Mike i know where your coming from,I've been racing since i was a kid. Bikes,Quads,Buggies and now Jeeps and im probably the lowest paid person out here but i just have to pick and choose what i do. In the past we didnt race all summer so i didnt do much and saved my pennies so i could go racing come winter. Maybe you'll have to concentrate on one car.You know everyone else has a Christmas fund but i have a race fund and i use it for entrys and what ever else it will cover. I plan my races for the year and get the entry fees up front. this year i started with $3000 that covered all my entrys and still had enuff for a beer or two.Let face facts none of us do this for the money,I do it cuz i think my Butt looks good in Race pants...lol
I hope this helps out or gives you some ideas. P.S. Having Fun Is Expensive....LOL
I don't need to Win or be Fast i just need to have FUN !!!! |

Posted - 11/13/2006 : 7:21:14 PM Armadillo Bill.....Wild Willie Here..... This is to my freind Mike.Mr Cobra & Bronco ........... Mike I can see where your situation may be difficult.I have won in my class and have never seen 1 dollar, my wife get's the cash I just want the trophy and the bragging rights.I do agree the racing is expensive, but,,,I say this gently,I have gone from pro-3 to pro-1 in four years and the cost has been stagering.I do support the NSDA for the reason only that,we deserve to run our cars more than 4 times a year.Plus traveling from Texas is not cheap.I sleep with my racecar, eat fast food,so I can run my car and see my friends, like you my friend.I also realize the cost that goes with it.So I run sport 1 and pro-1 for the cost of 235.00 you are a good racer and love to see you at the race's ,Please come and dance with us.

Posted - 11/13/2006 : 3:31:59 PM Gary, thats a good point on the payout. Another thing to consider is that you do receive 2 adult entries and a parking pass with every pro entry. Thats about $100 in those three things there.

Posted - 11/13/2006 : 2:14:46 PM Mike: "food for thought" and I am in no way bashing anybody, but how many times did we: You and I race Yuma at $150 entry to win a grand, not bad... but then again it only paid winner and R/U, at San Jacinto they pay the top 8, not to bad either. I understand what You are saying, but as it was stated above, it is really hard to try and please everyone.. especially when there are so many people getting involved in this sport. So bring both cars, run 1 in sport and 1 in Pro,and get out here so we can have a cocktail together.. Later
