There are some things that need to be addressed
1.We still have Kids flying up and down the pit roads on Quads and in Golfcarts.
2.We still have under age kids operating vehicles. I saw one kid so small he had to standup to drive a golfcart while his parent sat shotgun.
3.If we are gonna have a set of rules we all need to comply.
4.They need to stop people from picking and choosing who they run in Elimanations. If you get paired up against a freind or a tough competitor Oh Well thats racing.
5.I think we need less water in the pits(A Big Mudhole) and more water in the stagging lanes and track.
6.I was looking for an original flyer that said if you pay for a Pro-class you got Friday test&tune for free.
7.What was up with the trench at the starting line.

Well i've said my piece,Do with it what you want.

I don't need to Win or be Fast i just need to have FUN !!!!

NSDA Rules - Race Procedure Section D

D. Once a race has been concluded the racers will drive or maneuver their vehicles to the extreme side of the shut down area or into the hook up area if provided. If the vehicle is driven back to the pit area it must be along the designed roads and with care, not exceeding the speed limit of 10 mph. Vehicles that must be towed should be removed from the track area as fast as possible to expedite the racing program. Any driver who does not operate his/her vehicle in the appropriate manner is subject to disqualification and/or expulsion and/or loss of points for that race and/or year. This rule is designed to be as tough as necessary to make the pits and return road safe for everyone. The speed limit applies to all vehicles, tow, pit bikes, cars, trucks and race vehicles.

We will take names and car #'s for any violations commited in the pits for reckless driving. The Driver/Owner of the team will be warned the 1st time by a track official. If this continues we will have to be forced to disqualify the competitor and/or ask the team to leave the event. We will NO LONGER TOLERATE this behavior. Please help us keep this safe for all.

I know that came up before and it was said by many to be one of the bigger challenges as we have people that will arrive Friday, Arrive just for saturday and some that will only race on Sunday. It would really need several meeting to catch everyone. You would need one per day at least and then I beleive someone metioned that the Top fuel and alcohol teams sleep later and such. I think the idea is great though...

I do commit though that I am going to be very firm with everyone out driving around the shut down area during the racing. Do not cross the top end and do not "play" in the top end. First one will be warned but kids will be brought back and parked with mom and dad if they are out there.

I respectfully request from everyone, lets have a great family time at this event but this is not the time that they need to be riding their bikes, quads and rhinos around for recreation. Save it for the desert / dunes....

See you in a few days everyone. Lets make sure my team with Motorsports medical just gets to be spectators....

When the race is for life, We are there for you!

mod girl your 2 cents is as valuable as anyone's. i understand what you mean as we pulled out of a race earlier this year because a bike had a sharp point on the front of the frame. it belonged to a very good young racer. but my fear was that my 5y.o. runs 18's and this kid ran 10's at the time. if my 5 y.o. loses it at 3/4 track and crosses into the other lane the other bike is going twice as fast, i can't depend on a 7 y.o. to make the right split second decision to avoid my kid. the other bike has been fixed and we are all happy & friends again.
but i have to say that it is your decision as a parent as is mine to decide to allow them to race at the faster levels. my 8 y.o. made 12 picture perfect passes in 2 different jr's this weekend- running in the mid 7's 4 times. i staged my 5 y.o. far right and the car headed toward the cones at 3/4 track. he lifted, brought the car around and hit it thru the lights. ran a 9.76 @22mph. off the throttle about 30 feet.i was proud and amazed! he told us that it was too fast and scared him a little. we are putting him back on his quad until he wants to try it again. and it will be a solo pass again too. we can only limit them to their own level of skill. racing has it's dangers, but so does almost anything we do. it's not the track's job unless they feel it is unsafe ! it's your's or your kids responsibility to decide-ultimately yours.

I am not from your track and I know my 2 cents means nill. Maybe you should have a couple of jr classes. 1 for the younger jrs and one for the jrs who can go a little faster. Jrs should not be allowed to run with the adults until they are 16 yrs old. I know that sounds harsh, but they should have a drivers lisence or a id that proves they are 16. I race and my sons race. My Boys had to come up the ranks. They started when they were 6 and 9 and got into the adults when they were 16. They learned alot through the yrs and accomplished alot too. This made them smarter and better drivers. I could not live with myself as a parent if my son was put in a fast car and something went terribly wrong with it and it crossed the center line and took out a fellow racer! I also couldn't handle it if the other driver lost control and took out my son and he was hurt real bad or worse yet killed! It's all about safety, not who can go faster and bragging rights. As for the pits, give the team a warning on the kid, then they take pts away on the next time you have to tell them, if there is a third time, remove them from the race. I am not trying to sound harsh, but I am a racer and I am a mom. I do not race here, so it doesn't matter about my opinion.

i have 2 kids racing jr. dragsters- one 5 & one 8. i feel better with them inside a cage. age has little to do with skill! but it has alot to do with reactions, and the capability to make an instantaneous decision! my 8 year old is a better & safer driver than many adults i see out there. my 5 y.o. has been pulled for going too fast in the pits and i invite ANYONE to chew their butts for improper behaviour and then tell me too so i can chew too! the age vs. skill thing is tough! one of the best little racers i've ever watched/raced was gunner savage. and i NEVER saw him out of control or being stupid! licensing would be good but don't base it on 1 clean run on a smooth track. give them a rutted track that may throw them around a little and see how they do!i have to agree with dave on this! and mark i know what you mean- last time i was there i had drags at 11 pm thru my pit area! snake

If it's made clear at the drivers meeting then your race committee needs to take action. It is also a courtesy issue with riding all night. Maybe your committee needs to impose a riding/noise curfew for the events? Just a suggestion. Take care,Andy

That would be great if we had drivers meeting......

Gentleman and ladies as well. We have had the same issues in the northwest with kids riding around. At our drivers meeting we are all told NO RIDING DURING RACING... PERIOD. It has started to make a difference. Fortunatly at our track there is alot of real estate for them to go ride. May-be it needs to be stressed again with the possible ejection of a race team that lets their kids run on and on? I don't know that, your race committee would.
Now as far as younger people running a faster car? If a person of a younger age shows responsibiliy in safety and all aspects of racing a faster car. Gets good grades and helps maintain the car, than they deserve to in MY opinion. Hell,I have seen ALOT of adults that have absoulutly NO buisness getting behind the wheel of a race car let alone a golf cart in the mornings. You know, long nights and bench racing? Now I know you can't disagree with that. I understand some concerns with the younger ones moving up. Put them in the car, have them do a "License" pass and whalla, they have a license. I am 41 years old and I had to get my Blown Alky license at the track I had raced at for 7 years!! I felt good about it because my fella competitors all gave me the nod. So with that. Maybe your organization at the start of next year can have a weekend to license younger people that are moving up? Just my opinion and my 100 bucks worth. Take care, look forward to meeting some of ya in Primm.
