What are the rules to getting licensed in Top Eliminator? Can I license at another event or does it have to be an NSDA event? Just wanting to know so I can make a deadline for my car to get finished.

Thanks,
Kenny

Top Fuel/Top Alcohol/Top Eliminator-
All drivers upgrading or never competed in Top Fuel, Top Alcohol or Top Eliminator with the NSDA will have to license at an NSDA event or Sanctioned track prior to participating in any round of racing. All licensing will include 60¡Ç pass, ¨ö track pass and a full pass with parachute use on the final pass. See Race Director prior to first attempt.

Sanctioned tracks as of 07/09
- Avenal,CA - ASDI
- Longview,WA - NWSCA

Yuma and Primm are NSDA Events, sanctioned tracks are Avenal and Longview. Avenal and Longview have agreed to work with the NSDA and meet NSDA/NSRA requirements.

More to come on Sanctioned tracks, Divisional races and National Points race for 2010.

Is there ever going to be a race at Yuma again ? Seems to me all NSDA races are heading north and getting away from the south. You all should know we get some good times there and we can run day and night. I know there is alot of racers from the north but some of us just cant travel that far $$$. But it would be nice to race in Yuma once and a while. Plus it sounds like the tribe is going to help get the roundy round cars back. So it looks to me they like having races.

The way I read it, that is not what it says. Chachy's post says that Primm and Yuma are NSDA events. The other "Sanctioned" tracks are non typical points races (Little different for Avenal this year with the permit delays in Hemet) but will still be handled with NSDA personnel as race directors or at least under their guidelines and guidence. I am not speaking on behalf of NSDA in anyway but do not see Primm being done away time soon.

Everyone agrees knowledge is golden however I appreciate that they are communicating when there is solid news.

If we never raced again at Primm who would miss the place. Its time to move on to a better location without all the rocks. Like behind South Point Casino in Vegas.

Cameron, yes if you pay for (2) T&T on Friday and are registered for TE they will count towards it.

NSDA

Instead of making a driver waste a weekend Licensing at a racing event and some spending a bunch of money to drive to these events to license when some have tracks closer to there house that may or may not be sanctioned then what is wrong with changing this to something like NHRA does. Have a form that is downloaded from your website with all the requirments of licensing and have a place for 3 current licensed drivers in that class that are there witnessing it to sign off on the license. We are the ones in the lane next to them so I dont believe that anyone is going to sign off unless they fell they can saftly run next to them. In my opinion I think that tracks like Primm and Avenal are hard enough to control a car in the shutdown for a experinced driver and are no place for someone that has not driven before. We need all the racers we can get at each and every event so why not make it easier for people to show up and race safely.

Nick

Personally I think the whole licence thing is a waste of time. If you dont need a rule dont have one. How many people have ever came from out of the wood work with a new radically fast car and went down any sand drag track and crashed themselves or anybody else? Almost nobody just drives up to the track and unloads a fuel car and makes a pass. And with that said making a 60 and a half and then a full pass dont make you capable of driving. Every year very experienced drivers get in to situations and sometimes crash. Most if not all of us get that experience by starting out on the slower classes and work our way up as we gain interest in the sport. Dee started racing on a Suziki 80 10 sec. flat at 21 mph. I agree with Nick that such a rule was the potential to keep capable racers saying whatever and just staying at home.

I DONT NO ANYTHING ABOUT RUNNING AN ORGANIZATION LIKE NSDA BUT I WOULD THINK IF U WERE TRYING TO GET SOME TYPE OF LIABILITY INSURANCE U WOULD NEED SOME TYPE OF GUIDE LINES TO SHOW U ARE TRYING TO KEEP RACERS AND SPECTATORS SAFE,MAYBE THAT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE LICENSING,ALL I CAN SAY THE PEOPLE OF THE NSDA HAVE A THANKLESS JOB,TRYING TO KEEP EVERYONE HAPPY,I PERSONALLY TAKE MY HAT OFF TO THEM,I DONT SEE PROMOTERS LINED UP TO PUT ON THESE EVENTS,JUST MY OPINION
