There are some things that need to be addressed
1.We still have Kids flying up and down the pit roads on Quads and in Golfcarts.
2.We still have under age kids operating vehicles. I saw one kid so small he had to standup to drive a golfcart while his parent sat shotgun.
3.If we are gonna have a set of rules we all need to comply.
4.They need to stop people from picking and choosing who they run in Elimanations. If you get paired up against a freind or a tough competitor Oh Well thats racing.
5.I think we need less water in the pits(A Big Mudhole) and more water in the stagging lanes and track.
6.I was looking for an original flyer that said if you pay for a Pro-class you got Friday test&tune for free.
7.What was up with the trench at the starting line.

Well i've said my piece,Do with it what you want.

I don't need to Win or be Fast i just need to have FUN !!!!

Well 1st off what a great weekend......

Thanks to all the NSDA crew and the jeep crew that towed me off the track 2 times.....Hope that dose not happen again....

I THINK I NEED TO SAY SORRY RIGHT NOW.................

Well I guess I can jump right in here....

1. The kids.......Saturday night I thought I was in glamis and the parade route was right next to my car and trailer 1 kid was driveing a big green steel old golf cart and hit the leg of my canopy when he was doing a u turn next to my car he was so little he could not see the end of the cart when it hit my canopy I think it is time to crack down on this before there is a big mess when these kids hit a car and do some real damage...

2. On saturday when the kids where race so smart ASS person working at the end of the track made a smart ass comment to my brother about going onto the track. We always go on the track to help the kids they are small and really do not know what to do so all we tell them is to go to there uncle...So I think someone needs to relax at the end of the track...NOT TO HAPPY ABOUT IT!!!!!

3. I have not raced for a long time but if I remember it correctly if you were not 16 years old with a drivers License you had to race in the kid classes...........I do not think it is safe for someone that is under age to be running as fast as they are. When I was little anyone under 16 could not go faster then 7.00......Just my 2 cents....

4. It would be nice if all the NSDA staff was on the same page as far as what to charge for and what we get for all the money we spend to race..Its not a bad thing all the time but it would be nice to know that it will be the same price and the same stuff everytime...

Please do not take all this stuff wrong we love to come and race with the NSDA and we want them to be aroud for a long time.We all would hate to lose a good thing just because someone can not control there kids in the pits...........

Well now that the NSDA is made at me hope to see everypne in primm..........

With all of the details the NSDA staff have to deal with, I think they did a wonderful job putting on another great race. With so many people attending these races the NSDA staff cant be everywhere at once so I think its has to be the parents duty to patrol there kids. The tent set up in the pits was for our friends wifes birthday and they wanted to celebrate at the races... I think thats great, its brings people to the track that havent exspirenced a sand drag race before( promoting our sport)... anyways Our team had another great time see you a PRIMM... One of the great things I have seen over the last year on this site is that you can complain, bitch, moan or gripe, and the NSDA does not seem to hold a grudge. You can ask questions, offer suggestions, or clarify decisions and you will get the answers for the answer men that are out there everyday during the races and many days before and after the event. You can offer appreciation, pass on compliments and just say job well done and they hear it. They don't get mad for a post on a forum site.

When I am sitting out in the shut down area for the Fuel, Eliminators and the Alcoholics, I see many problems with the kids. Anyone that pits down there will attest that I kick kids out of the area all the time down there and quite frankly , I am not warm and fuzzy when I do it. I have had several that I take back to mom and pop and get parked after repeat offenses. The ones that are the most challenging for me are the Soboba residents that come in on motorcycle and quads from outside. They have very little respect for any of the Hemet Jeep folks or ourselves when we try to get them to clear out.

The kids that are unsupervised are my only complaint. If a parent is in the vehicle with the minor and letting them drive, then hopefully it is controlled and responsible. The kids being involved in anyway is one of the greatest things in all sports. They want to feel a part of it. Many of the teams have their kids steer the race cars while they are towed back to the pit. These will be the future of the sport.

Last part of my .02, I dont think age should ever be the determination for any competition event. In my volunteer rescue work, I am exposed to many types of racing from motorcycles, to top fuel, to trophy trucks and off road buggies. It is simply my opinion but there are far more 40 year old men driving 130 mph off road that I think have no business racing than some of the younger generations (not isolated in anyway to sand drag racing). I do think that all drivers should go through a permit process like was done this weekend for our 2 newest top fuel drivers.

Glad it was a very safe weekend and I got the chance to enjoy some great side by side racing. See you all in just a few weeks in Primm.

I think age plays a big part of determination for any competition event. All other motorsport have a age limit for the differnt classes and I think we should also. It is not to pick on the kids it is just to keep them and others safe. What is the age cut off for a sport or pro class????????Can my 8 year old daughter drive my pro 2 car?????I think a 2X4 and a pillow and she could drive it......SO AGE DOSE MATTER........MAYBE SHE WILL TAKE MY PLACE IN PRIMM....

JUST MY 2 CENTS....

I hope that people have enough common sense to not let their 8 year old daughter drive their Pro 2 car. Would you let her drive your car?? I agree about the age requirement, but it takes just a little bit of common sense to know what your kids can or can't drive.

I merely was voicing my opinion in that it is not age but maturity level that should drive many of these decisions. I know of a 13 yr old that is forced to race pro motorcycle races as they will no longer accept him in junior classes becasue he wins. I know of a class one buggy driver that completed the baja 1000 at age 14.

Ya you hope but that is the problem they do not have common sense....Come down to the end of the track pits and you will see what I mean....little kids drive golfcarts and other carts all over the place just like the where in glamis....NOT TO BRIGHT.........

Some people think it is ok and out in the middle of nowhere it might be ok...But right in the middle of peoples camps is not to bright...

but again just my way of thinking and in the end we are going to all have fun untill it happens...........then good by to all of it just because a little kid hits something or someone.............

YES IT DOES TAKE COMMON SENSE, BUT JUST BECAUSE SOMEONES PARENTS LET THERE KID DO IT, THEN ALL THE PARENTS THINK ITS OK. I AGREE THAT SOME KIDS ARE MORE MATURE THEN OTHERS, BUT ITS THE NSDA THAT NEEDSTO SAY WHAT THE KIDS CAN AND CANT DO...

I WOULD DRIVE, BUT THEY WONT LET ME DRINK

Iam responding to #3,Sorry Citified?! The last time I raced in a sport jeep class, we raced in shorts and T-shirts. As soon as I returned to the pits I was surrounded by NSDA staff with the "WHAT!" look on their faces. That's what I said what????? I immediately got my firesuit out of the trailer. Thanks for looking out for my well being, Citified. HAMMERDOWN

Todd, Please be clear: What I was was saying is that I advocate driver permit process like all high profile motorsports and not a process that says, happy sweet 16 here is a top fuel dragster. I beleive compentency, maturity and overall skill should play into every driver that gets in a car. A series of passes with requirements such as parachutes or safety mechanism and a comprehensive test sitting in the car at tech and being able to do anything asked while blinded including shut off, pumps, fire suppression if equipped and things like that.

I have to agree with ndvalium. We all know there are some young racers who have been racing for a few years, and who have proven themselves to be safe and competent racers. A licensing process and blindfolded test is a great idea, because we all know anything can happen down the track. Also the parents of the kids need to take responsibility of the racer and the racers mishaps.

You parents who allow your 5 year olds to drive golf carts and banshees know who you are, and you should be more responsible!!! Mature adults that bring your children should be able to police them as well.

The NSDA had another great race with 33 new cars teched, they cannot be everywhere on the race track. And kudos to all the NSDA staff whom pulled off another successful, safe, and exciting race!!
I know when we showed up Friday at 5pm, the track was packed!! I would like to know the final car count, because I know the staging lanes were packed also. Keep up the great racing!!!!!!

I have to agree with citi-fied on the Kids, or ie: under-aged drivers in the pits, driving golf-carts, quads, etc,or the fact of adults driving to fast or unsafe as well, The NSDA staff, have thier hands full with trying to put on a great race, along with a timely one, there was over 400 entries at this past race, it is hard for them to be everywhere and try to police the activities in and around the pits and staging areas, while trying to put on a race, I'm not making excuses, just hoping that some will realize they cant be everywhere. I personally stopped 6-8 kids and about 5-7 adults and explained the rules, they were all very receptive and obliged, I'm not asking anyone to do this...but what would it hurt? The Racing and future Racing as we all know it is built on the Racers, if You see someone, whether it be a child, or adult, take the time and maybe explain our rules, some may not know them, We did have an additional 61 vehicles teched at this Race. I will get off my pedastal now, and just hope in the future that some racers could help out in this area, in a professional manner. Thanks...

They say You just cant guarentee the prize money in the Sand HMMM... "YOU JUST CAN'T"
