Just got a call with some really terrible news.... Charlie Brown Sr. was involved in a motorcycle accident this evening and unfortunately did not make it through the crash. Glen Brown was also invlolved in the accident and is in serious condition in the hospital. The Brown's are in need of our thoughts and prayers in this difficult time for them.

The Folks at SkidRow Racing would like to send out our Deepest Sympathies to the whole Brown Family.
Charlie Brown Sr was a great person and will be deeply missed.
He was the Godfather of the Sand Drags.
Charlie we Loved you in this life and we will Love you in the Next.

People use the term friend very different and everyone has their own definition. My personal definition of the word friend: a person that you trust and shows the same trust in you. As a one of the medics most of you know I sit at the top of the shut down area during Top Fuel, Alcohol, and Eliminator. The racers then drive at me at high speed. I give my trust to all the drivers that drive towards me. When something out of the ordinary happens, Drivers make a split decision and determine if they will put their trust in me to be there for them. When they do, I have a new friend.
About 10 seconds after a beautiful shiny gold framed dragster came to a stop. A driver and I became introduced and had a brief conversation. You see, he was upside down, strapped in his dragster that had just rolled over a couple times. He immediately gave me his trust to take care of the situation and his personal protection. I had a new friend. Every time since that day that I have seen him, he always stops and talked to me and the members of the Fire / Rescue team.
My phone rang about 2 hours ago with information. Information that nobody ever wants. Tragedy had struck our sand drag community. We lost a great driver. We lost a member of our family. We lost a friend.
Charlie Jr – My sincere condolences to you and your family. Your father was a great man that will be missed by everyone that ever met him. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

ionia sand drags prayers are with the brown family, i will miss the 2 brown team at the drags. it was always a thrill to watch him run a top fuel car.

NSDN sends our thoughts and condolences to the Brown Family on the loss of Charlie Sr. You were on our minds today at the race in MI today. Charlie Sr. was certainly a positive influence on the whole sand drag racing community throughout the country. Our prayers are also with Glen tonight on a speedy and full recovery.
