I was just wanting to know on how many racers would rather have a bladed track than have the perfecta? Or field type track if dont know the perfecta. This for the pro, sportsman and bike classes. [:DI run in pro 1 and have talked to alot of other drivers at the last Yuma speedway. Almost everyone I talked to would prefer the bladed track in pro classes. I would just hope that other would answer this and maybe we can get that changed for futre races. Thank you to all that reply.

I prefer a bladed track, I just sink to much in the fluff.

| Be careful what you wish for. This is just an OPIONIN a bladed track may be a little faster BUT it might not be as consistent. A harder track with a car with less power may wheelstand and/or go crooked more often ie: less consistent. Prime example final round of T/F and T/A both cars in the right lane went to the right. Not complaning I choose the right lane but sometimes you can't see or feel the hard or soft spots on the track. A fluff track will usually be the same across the starting line and a better chance of a consistent run everytime. Again just an opionin. Joe |

Joe I do agree that it maybe more consistant. But I feel that the shorter wheelbase jeeps and cars haveing aharder times with steering. I noticed that Charlie Johnson had a harder time and I think the jeeps with lots of suspension had harder times than me to keep under control. Good point made on E.T . Great job on the record once again.

I don't like it. Please go back. I was happy to only have to race on a track like that (Primm) twice a year. Please don't re-invent the wheel... if a floated track is good enough for F and T/A, then it is good enough for me.

OK THE THREAD IS WHICH TYPE OF TRACK "FLUFF OR BLADED" WOULD WE RATHER RUN ON. HANDS DOWN GIVE ME THE "BLADED", WHEN RACING IN THE BRACKET CLASSES OR THE INDEX CLASSES. I FIND "BLADED" TO BE MORE CONSISTENT. NOW IN PROMOD SOMETIMES THE "FLUFF" TRACK WAS QUICKER, BUT NOT CONSISTENT. AS FAR AS SAFTEY GOES I ALSO SEE MORE PROBLEMS WITH THE "FLUFFED" TRACK, AGAIN THATS JUST ME. MOST THE OTHER RACERS THAT WERE IN OUR CAMP THIS LAST RACE TALKED THE SAME WAY, BUT NOT VERY MANY ARE ON THE NET. BELIEVE ME THIS WAS A MAJOR SUBJECT FOR THE BRACKET RACERS.
ANOTHER POINT . . . WE RACED ON A "BLADED" TRACK IN THE PAST AND VERY FEW BRACKET RACERS COMPLAINED THEN. SO MAYBE?
DONT FORGET THIS IS MY OPINION NOT CRITICISM.

I thought that was weird that the fuel cars ran on two different surfaces in the same weekend . I was thinking that maybe you guys asked for the track bladed and not fluffed . I would think it would make it more difficult to get your car consistant when you are on two different surfaces . It looked like Geoff lost a couple cylinders on the right side sending the car towards the rail forcing him to pedal the car . He looked like a seasoned veteran out their great piece of driving Geoff . Rick Jr. |

| I think the track prep should be the same all weekend long. flat or fluffy. The last qual session on sat the track was alot harder. then before most of the T/Fs went up smoke at the hit.And when that happens it can get $$$.NSDA does a great job in prep and puts on the best show on sand.maybe thay see something in the track we dont know about or the heavier dirt starts to go away as ther working it.Hopefully we can fix are hotrod and be back in march for the next race THANX CRAIG |

Rick, The track prep was the same all weekend for Top Fuel and Top Alcohol. They ran on a scraped track all three days...The other classes ran on a fluffed track all weekend. We did not vary the prep during the weekend.

| hey jody on our 2.28 pass we kind fluffed the track up,maybe thats what he's talking about.on a serious note,i thought the track prep was great, and for a track with no bite the records seemed to be dropping like flys, seeya in march |

Jody I dont think its a big deal so I dont want to have an issue over it . But we were talking about it while it was happening actually the alcohol guys ran on fluff in the final then fuel ran on it bladed . The big machine went down the track first then the blades went after for top fuel and did the opposite for alcohol. Maybe that is still fluffed I dont know . the track was smooth and not chunky if that makes sense. But believe me it was awsome all weekend . Rick Jr. |

Rick
I did not even notice this in the final but if it was fluffed for us then it was just a honest mistake as they were set up to run T/E first and the second T/E car was not there yet so Tiffany waited for him and we went before them. This would not at all effected the outcome of the Final as it did not effect what Garry was running and we were not 100% coming into the final round and knew we were probrably going to drop off. I believe it went right because of the gear ratio we were forced to use because of a broken gear in the round before and had nothing to do with the track and it was all over with when the red light came on anyway.

Rick, What you saw was the track being fluffed for TE. It was bladed for TF and TA Finals, like it was all weekend long.
