Primm for me always begins planning about a month out. Fire / Safety plans, logistics with extra staff that want to be there since it is close to home, families of our that like to see what we do, all kinds of fun stuff. We love the feel of escape by being at a race track and not haveing to deal with the typical 6 hour drive. Nope 1 hr for us and we are there!

Arriving Thursday afternoon, I was shocked. The lots were filling up already. People out wrenching ont heir cars ready for the weekend! Wait a minute, it was kinda nice out. No Wind, Rain, Snow.....Where are we?

Friday we start almost on time and things ran great. Really it was a perfect day. At least for a spectator like me anyway. It was nice to see some new cars, some cars we hadnt seen in a few races and of course all of the points contenders ready to race. We ran a little late but running late because there are so many cars is a good problem to have for all of us! Was talking to a certain alcohol driver after his first pass and he mentioned man he hated this place. He didnt have a reason. There is just something about it. Many drivers hate it but none can stay away....

Saturday was truly another great day of racing. Great Sportsman car counts, lots of time trials for other pro classes and some alcohol / elimintor elims that evening. OK I love night time racing. I cant say that enough. really.....There is nothing like a top fuel with all 8 lit running down the track at night....

Sunday comes....Nice morning, light breeze, After last month in Avenal, a light jacket was almost fun to put on.....Silly me, I know where we are! Light breeze to thunderous wind coming straight down the track at us. I found out later who was responsible.....Steve Hansen from Racer for Christ had stopped by to visit after an event up in Vegas. As he was sitting in our camp he told us how he had prayed fo wind the last 2 days for an event he was st in Vegas to blow the dust away from the spectators.....God does answer all prayers....apprantly Steve needs to be a little more specfic in his next request! Great junior dragster turnout. time trials complete...Time to start the ceremonies....a touching tribute to Dan by his team, and truly everyone else around. An amazing singing of the anthem by a 9yr old.....wow watch out american idol and we are under way witht he big cars! Some great racing. We got delayed during elimintor as Leon wanted to relocate all the finish line lights as well as the bottom of his dragster but everything is still safe and going well. Semi finals, Top Alcohol, Mink vs Janick.....Its Primm.

Not many people get the chance to have a private conversation with a driver that has just violently rolled their dragster and is suspended upside down in their seat on a dragstrip. Nick and I talked at lenght while DJ and Gary held a fairly same discussion a few feet away in his car. After some time, both were helped up and along with spending time with family, crew and friends, immediately went to each other. I am very thankful for many things during this incident, but most of all is that my friends are ok and will be back to race again. In my conversation with Gary a few minutes after he was out, I playfully reminded him that at least now, he had the reason to not like Primm

Well the remainder of the night pushed on. Amazing side by side racing, a new incredible top fuel 2.23 record that had Scott jumping 10 feet in the air. It was a late finals night but worth every second.

Thank you to all that continue to allow us to be a part of it. For those taking the next few months off from racing, we hope to see you next year and enjoy you Winter!
