kenny good explanation. i'll have it checked after the next race but i'm pretty sure the tires are spining. other racers have said so and the car was going sideways off the starting line and my 60ft. times improved from 1.74 to 1.60 as the track got better and my e-ts went from a 49 to a 27. so what do you think now ? i'm still gona have the converter checked though. pw

Mike and I are tag teaming you. Later in the day did the track come around or did you car run better? What do you have for a converter know? In our BBC the highest we run is a 3500/lowest is 2350.

well don't forgit to pull my hair and call me bitch. the converter is 2800 stall from the convertershop with anti balloning plate.and the engine isn't reving any higher then it allways has. i've been driving this car for 8 years 7 with this trans and converter combo and nothing has changed that i can tell.
i don't need to be the fastest just faster than you! |

PW: Paint some white stripes on the back tire's and have one of the kids video the rear of the car at lanch. Than you can see what the tire is doing. MT

PW YOU HAVE CHANGED YOUR GEARS FROM 488 TO 456 THATS ABOUT 7%, AT 5000RPM THAT WOULD BE ONLY 350RPM. IF YOU ARE JUST WATCHING THE TACH IT IS HARD TO SEE 350RPM. YOU MAY BE CORRECT ABOUT THE GEARS. BUT WE HAVE RUN 4.56 GEARS IN OUR CAR. UNTILL WE WENT TO A BLOWER TO RUN IN T/E CLASS AND RUN WITH THE TA BOYS, WE NEVER SPUN THE TIRES TOO FAST. WE HAVE RUN AS FAST AS 3.27 WITH THAT COMBO. JUST DONT KNOW IF WE CAN SPIN THEM TO FAST, UNTILL WE ADD ALOT OF POWER. ALL OF THAT SAID, DONT CHANGE A THING AND SEE WHAT THE TRACK WILL GIVE YOU NEXT TIME.
THE POINT IS WITH 456 GEARS YOU ARE PUTTING MORE LOAD ON THE CONVERTER. IF ITS GETTING WEAK IT MAY BE SLIPPING MORE.

peewee-ithink it's hard to notice a small change taking place over 8 years. ever notice your hair being longer than it was yesterday? your converter may not stall any higher than when it was new but can eat horsepower like the swag boys at a bbq. but like they say- 1 change at a time, and look at it over more than 1 or 2 passes. i bet you'll figure it out pretty quick.snake

Pee-Wee Just change everything, then You dont have to guess at what fixed the Problem. Thats the way we do it here in algeria. Hope this helps...
